Looks very red cresent to me. One would think with all the controversy, they'd change it, but I supposed that would offend the minority.

Looks like a semicircle of trees. And if the architect used that phrase in his description, the whole controversy would have been avoided. On the other hand, he could have written "croissant" and give the French-bashers apoplectic fits.
