So would the president, I'm sure. Not easy to move such an entrenched group; overcoming the inertia may take years.

A few years back, I was hearing from someone who had a relative in the CIA, and that person's views were exactly what you would expect if you believe that the CIA is deliberately undermining US policy in this area.

Ever since the 1973 Church Committee, the CIA has been padded with bureaucratic pantywaists. It has become obvious that they, who prefer to do their work at embassy cocktail parties... or possibly on the Internet... also happen to be radical, liberal Democrats.
