And one more thing:

Schwarzenegger appoints new finance director: Republican budget advisor M. Genest

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1532502/posts

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Thursday appointed longtime Republican budget adviser Michael C. Genest to serve as his third finance director in little more than two years.

Genest, 58, spent five years as the head budget aide to Senate Republicans before joining Schwarzenegger's finance department in 2003 as chief deputy director. He has been the acting director of the Department of Finance since September.

Assemblyman John Laird, D-Santa Cruz, chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, described Genest as a "a strong conservative with a pragmatic streak."

I know Arnold appointed a Republican as finance director. Unlike most on FR, I fully understand the importance of building winning coalitions, so it doesn't bother me of a governor or president appoints a relatively moderate member of the opposite party to a comparatively limited post. Norm Mineta at Transportation in GWB's administration hasn't been too bad, for example, and he's been loyal to the President.

However, the woman Arnold appointed is his CHIEF OF STAFF, the top appointed position in his inner circle. She's a radical Leftist. Not only will she have considerable power, but Arnold has given a huge boost to her career.

I'm sorry, FairOpinion. You and I agree much of the time, and I respect you. But this is a line I can't cross with you.

Well, shucks, FO. If your gay socialist buddy, assemblyman Laird, says it is so, then it must be!
Given your GLBT support, I suppose the appointment of Ms. Kennedy is considered another "win" to you.
