Broad outlook...
Procreation is the key... What is the incentive for a woman to give birth if all the world is gay?...within 5 generations we'd all look the same if we just use artificial insemination and the same 8 women that will agree to have the children to populate this wonderful world.

So you ARE taking the position that a couple who can't have children shouldn't marry?

You are exactly correct. Marriage in the traditional sense is a most inefficient institution. Where else do we find a contract that kids ranging from 18 years old to 30 years old are expected to be binding for the rest of their lives? Where else do we lock someone in for so long a time at such an early age? Yet marriage is a universal institution. It is that way because it is head and shoulders the best way to raise children.
For better or for ill, government policies have made marriage a financial institution too. To the extend that we are going to put up with the homosexual/lesbian situation at all, civil unions are designed to do that and apparently do that pretty well except for a few things like the Federal Estate Tax deduction allowed to spouses. Curiously, the Federal Income Tax ofttimes penalizes marriage.
It is my belief that the homo/lesbo community wants to push the marriage issue (as opposed to the civil union issue) out of guilt and desire for acceptance. Remember that to a very large extent, marriage is traditionally a religious rite. That implies some lessing of the sin (in the eyes of man) associated with homo/lesbo activities. Of course this attitude looses sight of the fact that God created man in His own image and not the other way around.
