Offering Abortion, Rebirth (Arkansas abortionist gives women "their lives back")
Los Angeles Times (free registration required) ^ | November 29, 2005 | Stephanie Simon

He calls himself an "abortionist" and says, "I am destroying life."

But he also feels he's giving life: He calls his patients "born again."

"When you end what the woman considers a disastrous pregnancy, she has literally been given her life back," he says.

Before giving up obstetrics in 1991, Harrison delivered 6,000 babies. Childbirth, he says, should be joyous; a woman should never consider it a punishment or an obligation.

"We try to make sure she doesn't ever feel guilty," he says, "for what she feels she has to do."

"Most of these women are haunted by the memory of what they did."

I have to believe that this sometimes takes the form of dreams. I lost a baby early in pregnancy and over the years I have had dreams in which I see the face of the young woman that was never born, and it is always the same. It is a comfort to me because I know that one day I will see and recognize her, but I can't imagine having that experience knowing that you were the one that snuffed out his or her life.

"Now 70, Harrison estimates he's terminated at least 20,000 pregnancies."

What a legacy! He must be so proud. < /sarcasm >

"And what did you do with your life to benefit your fellow man, Mr. Harrison."

"I killed 20,000 babies."

"Excellent!" Satan

The murder of unborn children is not any more a valid choice than offing someone because they cut you off on the highway. If your "ethics" allow for convenience killing, and that's what all abortions are, than you have no real basis for forming a truly ethical position do you? It's more a practice of relativistic justification than of ethics. Talk about agenda driven.

I'm not so sure about some of your argument. Here In Miami, we regularly shoot at those who offend us in traffic. Fortunately, most such shooters are poor shots.

Since so much of the Miami economy is off book, not surprisingly there are many who shoot "off record" so to speak.

Multi-culturalism - ain't it grand?

Basically, this thread amounts to a discussion of the conflict between differing cultures, one historic America and the other a loose, socialist permissiveness motivated by the awareness that degrading the family weakens America - perhaps to the point where socailism might have a chance.

But I was young and still in my Liberal years.

By the sounds of it, you still are.

I raised these issues because I think that the choice should be made by the woman.

What about the baby? SOMEHOW I doubt the child would have chosen to be vacuumed out of his or her mother alive and then be thrown away to die like a peice of trash. No person, mother or father, has that right.

Good luck selling that to the Liberals in my area.

PS Dolphin doesn't taste like tuna fish, unless you are talking about ground up tuna. Then, of course you are talking mystery fish (tuna, albacore, shark, Flipper's missing relatives).

It actually is closer to manatee. Yummers!

;-)

Promiscuity is job security for the lesser OB/GYN.

This guy may want to stay indoors when it's cloudy outside.

She does not have "her two children." She is the mother of five or six, having paid someone to kill the three or four siblings of the ones she chose to have.
