Now to conservatives, who can't see a hill of beans difference between most of the political hacks, no there probably isn't a major difference between the two candidates It's going to be interesting to see how NY State Conservative Party plays its hand. It can't afford to back a bunch of RINOs, otherwise it's members stay home or vote for another third party. It has to get 50,000 votes, or it goes the way of the Liberal, Green and Right To Life parties in NY, i.e. electoral oblivion.

There's something else to consider in all of this. Since the modern era of electing Senators directly (post-1916), not a single solitary Democrat has EVER lost reelection for this office in New York (however, many Republicans have).
