The Hague, 30 November 2005 CT/MO/1028e

o Limaj and Musliu found not guilty on all charges o Both to be released o Bala convicted and sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment

The Tribunal today found Fatmir Limaj and Isak Musliu not guilty of all the charges contained in the indictment against them regarding their alleged involvement in crimes committed in the Llapushnik/Lapusnik area of Kosovo and at the Llapushnik/Lapusnik prison camp in 1998. The judges ordered that they be released as soon as the practical arrangements can be made.

In the same ruling, Judges Parker (presiding), Thelin and Van Den Wyngaert found Haradin Bala guilty of torture, cruel treatment and murder. This relates to the mistreatment of three prisoners at the Llapushnik/Lapusnik prison camp; his personal role in the "maintenance and enforcement of the inhumane conditions" of the camp; aiding the torture of one prisoner; and participation in the murder of nine prisoners from the camp who were marched to the Berishe/Berisa Mountains on 25 or 26 July 1998 and murdered. Seven counts against him were dismissed.

The indictment had alleged that Fatmir Limaj was a commander in the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) with responsibility for the Llapushnik/Lapusnik area and the prison camp of the same name; that Isak Musliu was a KLA commander and at times acted as a guard at the prison camp; and that Haradin Bala was also a KLA commander and guard at the prison camp.

This is the first judgement handed down by the Tribunal relating to crimes alleged to have been committed in Kosovo. The Tribunal has issued a number of indictments against several other persons regarding the alleged crimes in Kosovo. Among those charged for their role in the deportation of approximately 800,000 Kosovo Albanians and the murder of hundreds of others in 1999, are the following senior members of the political and military leadership of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) at the times the crimes were allegedly committed:

* Slobodan Milosevic, then President of the FRY * Milan Milutinovic, then President of Serbia * Nikola Sainovic, then Deputy Prime Minister of the FRY * Dragoljub Ojdanic, then Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army * Nebojsa Pavkovic, then Commander of the Third Army of the FRY * Vladimir Lazarevic, then Commander of the Pristina Corps of the FRY Third Army * Vladimir Djordjevic, then Assistant Minister of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and Chief of the Public Security Department of MUP * Sreten Lukic, then Head of the MUP staff for Kosovo

The following individuals are charged by the Tribunal for crimes allegedly committed against the Serb civilian population and members of the Albanian and Roma/Egyptian civilian population in the Dukagjin Operational Zone in western Kosovo in 1998:

* Ramush Haradinaj, then KLA Commander of the Dukagjin Operational Zone * Idriz Balaj, then KLA member who reported directly to Haradinaj and acted as the commander of the "The Black Eagles" * Lahi Brahimaj, then Deputy Commander of the Dukagjin Operative Staff

Since its inception in 1993, the Tribunal has charged 161 individuals for war crimes committed in the former Yugoslavia. To date, proceedings against 85 persons have concluded. Seven indicted persons remian at large.

Whatever is in the European gene pool for suicide must be kept out of America. Most Europeans who had a zest for life and opportunity left Europe more than 100 years ago. Those who remained must either be the trust fund offspring of aristocrats or the inept scum needing to be led about.

We have enough problems with Marxism in America, A European invention. We don't need the remaining self-deprecating, non reproducing, welfare statists to flee from the Muslim onslaught to America.

Kronos, I posted this on another thread but thought you might find it interesting, events are from the Clintonista era: ;)

"Athens: Police clashed with protesters who threw rocks and eggs at the U.S. and British embassies and lit fires and smashed store windows and cars. Some light injuries were reported. Greece, leading the dissident wing of NATO, has been calling for an immediate halt to the bombing and a return to the negotiating table. In addition, it has refused to offer its military forces to join the assault. It was the largest demonstration of its kind in at least the last 20 years."
-Associate Press

"Greece refused to participate in NATO bombings against Yugoslavia, Stephanopoulos says:"

"Greece refused to participate in the NATO bombings against Yugoslavia, Greek President Kostis Stephanopoulos said on Tuesday night, addressing his Yugoslavian counterpart Vojislav Kostunica. During a dinner hosted by Stephanopoulos for Kostunica, the former said that "the mistakes of the (Yugoslav) government of that time should have not been relegated on the Serbian people, nor should military means been used against them, it should have been thought that there were other ways to enforce the democratic and humanistic ideas". Stephanopoulos made special mention of the friendship between the peoples of Greece and Serbia, which was forged during the 20th century, adding that Greece and Serbia always found themselves "on the same side of the struggle for freedom and independence".

http://www.greekembassy.org/press/newsflash/2001/January/nflash0117.html

"Asked about the accuracy of the report that the majority of the Greek people support the Serb cause, Mr. Kranidiotis answered that he would describe the situation somewhat differently. Most Greeks, he continued, oppose the bombings, the aur-raids and the war due to a sense of insecurity caused, largely, by the proximity of the conflict to their frontiers; there is a looming fear that the crisis might spread and lead to a Greek involvement, either direct or indirect. When Mr. Paxman observed that Greece provides assistance to the Serbs, Mr. Kranidiotis replied that Greece also gives aid to Albania, FYROM and Kosovo. Greece, he added, has the only existing network of non-governmental organisations that provide humanitarian assistance to Kosovo, something that requires prior consultations with Yugoslav authorities. The agreement we have with the Government of Yugoslavia, he said, stipulates that aid will be equally distributed among Albanians and Serbs. There are also Serbs in the hospitals, he remarked. Asked about Greece’s intentions as to allowing the passage of NATO land forces through its territory, if such decision were to be made by the Alliance, Mr. Kranidiotis replied that the matter would be dealt with, if and when it arose. For the time being, he said, such an eventuality remains non-existent. Finally, queried about recent anti-war demonstrations in Greece, as well as about the incident with British military vehicles at the Thessaloniki wholesale fruit-market, the Alternate Foreign Minister acknowledged the existence of popular reaction, he asserted, however, that the Greek Government is in full control of the situation."

That last statement regarding the British military vehicles and the fruit-market incident could have been part of a Three Stooges skit show. This incident took place in Thessaloniki. What happened was in several occasions people blocked NATO convoys from transporting military equipment that were to be used in the war with their cars and some supporters thought it would be "interesting" if they messed with the road signs of the English army and as a result, many confused English soldiers found themselves driving in the central fruit market of Thessaloniki instead of their destinations. LoL!

Another incident had British troops blocked inside the port of Thessaloniki for days. People outside the port created a human wall so the British troops took these unexpected events all in good stride and could be seen sunbathing and relaxing inside the port.
