Gov. Schwarzenegger will absolve this death penalty, however unwarranted that decision may be. He will make his decision based on body politic and nothing else- it will not be his conscience. I fully support pro-life and truly despise the death penalty. My morals dictate that children have no choice, from conception to birth. If such is so- then after that, we reap the harvest, no matter what happens. How can we match punishment with a horrible crime? When on the outset, life punishes everyone- kindly or unkindly. Myself, I've experienced both in hard degrees. Killed in War- yes. Killed by civil crime- no, although it is extremely hard to answer the difference at times. Regardless, if we don't kill the bastards before capture- it is not human to kill them by our little court functions. None of us is getting out of here alive. Resign them to prison for the rest of their days and let G-d handle the long run.

But Tookie himself believes in the death penalty. He carried it out four times.

Why should the taxpayers - including the families of his victims - pay to keep the POS fed, clothed and housed?

Once the death penalty is abolished, the criminal-loving liberals will go after life without parole as cruel and unusual punishment. The NYT has already begun editorializing this position. Then, the families of victims will be sentenced to a lifetime of parole hearings to make sure the criminal is not released by some parole bureaucrat.

I would accept your argument if the victims could have "life" without parole also. Where is your concern for them and their families?
