Fox News and Sirius Radio
fox news | 11/29/2005 | howlingmule

Posted on 11/29/2005 8:44:25 PM PST by howlingmule

Fox News is advertising that they will no longer be on Sirius Radio. They are making it sound like it's not there choice, wanting us to call Sirius and voice our opinion. So I did, me being a trucker, I just cant go without fox programing. The Tony Snow show included. Now Sirius's customer service rep's are denying this. So what gives? Does anyone have the insight? Should I start shopping for an XM Radio? And finally, where is Tony Snow?

How do you like it? Great price. Is that after a rebate? If not, I may just pick up one.

I have the MyFi and love it. I use it both in the car and in the house.

Is Fox news radio declared to be commercial free?

Hell no.

All of the talk and news radio stations have tons of them.

The commercials are more annoying than on TV, but a lot less annoying than the car dealership ones on terrestrial radio.

The day Fox news goes off Sirius is the day I stop paying them and switch to XM.

No idea. I know Fox News, two channels of conservative talk, all NFL and virtually all NCAA football is available on Sirius. Personally, until the college/pro football coverage is available on XM, I'd not switch for all the Rush coverage in the universe. Of course, Sirius does have the advantage that they booted Err America to XM.

Is the Roady for XM or Sirius? Is it for the car only? I want to purchase a portable satellite radio for my hubby for Christmas and would like to know more before I buy. I am going with XM for Major League Baseball coverage.

I have XM and it is with me all of the time. I chose XM because it has FOX and MSNBC (Sirius does not). When a story is breaking, I like all of the major news channels.

I love the old radio shows and listen to it at night.

My only gripe is with the XM Radio Store. They need to get their act together big time. I would pay a higher price rather than deal with them again.

When I order something, it is in stock and the website says I can have it in x numbers of days, having to wait x number of days times 2 is not acceptable. When I deal with customer service, no response is not acceptable. But maybe that is just me.

But the XM programming is great. If Rush, Levin, and the SEC (who cares about PAC-TEN?) would sign with XM, life would be complete!

The Delphi Roady is for XM. Have one in my Blazer. One of the cool things with the baseball coverage is being able to listen to other teams radio broadcasts. After finding new favorite stations I went and bought the home unit that Polk has. Can't get enough of "Deep Tracks" and also "Music Lab".

Talk shows would be nice but neither seems to carry the syndicated shows.

I can't speak for Sirius, but XM has Tony Snow, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Bill Bennett, Michael Medved, etc. -- and even Air America! They have a channel "America Right" and another "America Left". Rush is not on Sirius or XM -- and probably will never be.

I've seen ads touting Fox's deal with XM several places. From what I've heard, Sirius just totally blew the negotiations to reup their deal, so I guess Fox is fine doing their thing with just XM.
