ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A gay political organization is asking for an investigation of a drag show at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The president of the Log Cabin Republicans of Greater St. Louis, Charles Stadtlander, says he attended the October 14th drag show.

He raised concerns that the show mocked heterosexual audience members, that performers wore revealing outfits, used inappropriate language and simulated sex acts.

He said university officials should not have allowed the event and raised concerns that tax dollars were involved.

University spokesman Bob Samples says taxpayer money was not used to fund the event and proper procedures were followed. Samples said the matter was a First Amendment issue. He said campuses have hundreds of events annually, and not everyone finds each to be appropriate.

Talk about confused. In college. Gay. Republicans. Attending drag queen shows. Then, excuse me while I snicker, upset because the drag queens wore revealing outfits and made fun of heterosexuals.

Some people are impossible to please.

I see nothing wrong with having gay republicans. Some people care much more about economic issues than they do about social issues. The problem they had with the drag show was that is was sponsered by a tax payer funded school, right in line with someone who cares more about money issues.

yeah, if people don't live exactly like you, they're confused! Drag shows are a bit much, though...

The point is, that in PC land, anything goes and any excuse from college administrators will suffice......unless its Christians, Boy Scouts or Conservatives doing the mocking.

Using the logic this administrator used, fornication on stage would be "protected free speech." What a bunch of dimwits we have running (ruining) our universities.

Hey let's give this guy credit for trying to reel in the flaming fags using tax dollars to display perversion on our college campuses.

I dont agree that some people are hard to please. People with an ounce of brain in their head--(Republican gays as opposed to Liberal democrat gays)--realise that the gay agenda is hurt tremendously by the flamers and outrageous displays put on by the liberal fruits. Not many people object to gays who act civilised, but heterosexuals are disturbed when these people go out in public displaying nudity ,crudity, and bad taste. Just as heterosexuals are disturbed at fellow heterosexuals doing the same thing.

This rule obviously doesnt count during the drunken debauch of New Orleans where only low class drunks ,voyeurs and exhibitionists go anyway.

Republicans tend to be more intelligent then Democrats. According to studies, gay men tend to be more intelligent than straight men (I don't know about any studies of women). Therefore, it stands to reason that there are probably quite a few gay Republicans.

On the other hand, I've used such reasoning to prove that women cause brain damage...but not being gay, I wish that I was just a little smarter...

If I were gay, the UMSL Drag Show would offend me.

I'm not gay and the UMSL Drag Show still offends me.

These people just don't get it. There's no more offensive a gay stereotype than a "Gay Pride Parade"...

I have always wondered why the folks felt they required a gay pride parade that stands them apart as really out there folks. I have to agree it embarrasses the heck out of me.

Do the people of Oregon not have a process for amending their constitution?????

Maybe an amendment to eliminate the state supreme court would be a good first step.

Not a bad start. How ironic that the state capital is "Salem". Let's bring back some tradition.

"gay men tend to be more intelligent than straight men"

Easily disproved. Straight men don't do something that gay men do, something that both know can kill you.
So, why does someone think that the person who makes the wrong choice is smarter than the person who chooses wisely?
