It took great courage for him to stand up against the war in Vietnam. It cost him 3 1/2 years in the prime of his career.

Ted Williams would consider both of you cowards.

Ted Williams would consider "both of you" cowards? What kind of crap is that? I served in the military for 10 years, including SE Asia during the war. That doesn't mean I don't understand what principle is! Ali would never have served one minute in combat and he still forfeited his career. By the way, the NY Boxing Commission is the entity that took his license and the Sup Ct held that what they did was unconstitutional - and it was no leftie court in the 60s and early 70s. Grow up!

I'm not sure why Teddy Ballgame would consider me a coward on the basis of my post. Having sacrificed 5 1/2 prime years of his own amazing athletic career to serve in two wars, it's reasonable to assume he must have loathed Ali's position. But I'm not sure he considered Ali a "coward." A traitor, perhaps. I don't know. Perhaps you either knew Ted Williams personally, or can cite references to comments he made about Ali's decision.
