After Katrina hit, our Gov., Mike Huckabee asked those with "second homes" to donate the use of them to evacuees from the storm. My dear Husband and I cringed at the thought, for all the right reasons.

Flash forward to yesterday, when our friends lost their cherished Lake home in Hot Springs when a Tornado blew it apart. They are in shock, and until they can get their insurance company to get there, and until Huckabee can tour the area today, they are in limbo wondering what their insurance or Disaster funds will help out with. They are homeless.

So we gave them our lake cabin to live in for as long as they want and it's just a couple of miles from their own home. They didn't ASK us for help BUT appreciate anything that's done for them, unlike some of these whiners who expect a free ride for the rest of their sorry lives.

And well you should have. It is very very difficult to evict someone regardless of the arrangement. I considered taking in an elderly person after Katrina but they don't usually come by themselves. And then we were out of our home for 9 days after Rita. A wonderful elderly widow in Houston was brutally murdered by evacuees that she tried to help.

I know there are some good people who do appreciate the help and a Texas tv station does more harm for them than good by broadcasting this goon's whines.
