I didn't even know a German woman had been kidnapped. It says in the article that she was kidnapped on Friday, but the Germans certainly kept quiet about it.
Several other people were kidnapped on Sunday, although it seemed to me from the vague news reports that those people might have been of Iraqi origin, regardless of their nationalities, and perhaps the kidnapping was one Muslim sect against another.
I believe, btw, that AQ announced it was going to stop publicizing the beheadings because it was resulting in negative publicity for them. Incredible, no?
This made headlines in Germany this morning.
The woman's an archeologist by the name of Susanne Osthoff. More information (in englisch language) from Deutsche Welle World:

They want the German Government to stop diplomatic communication with the new Iraq, as well as training/equipping Iraq Police (outside Iraq) etc.
This is probably all staged by the USA. The valiant islamofascists would never do such a thing, I mean they excused for killing 2 GSG9 officers while trying to kill US soldiers. It's Bush's fault.

Excuse me? That comment is a non-sequitor. New leaders are often tested by terrorists. Is this a news flash to you?
According to the German media she hasn't worked as archelogist in years. She was coordinating and delivering goods for "Kinderhilfe Irak" (Help Children in Iraq) and was fully aware were and what she was doing.
She is muslim, married to a man from Jordan and has one daughter.
The only ties Germany has right now to Iraq is the training of police officers abroad and econmical and cultural ties.
