Vote-rich Ontario - specifically the 416 Greater Toronto Area and the 905 suburban belt is what keeps the Liberals in power. Its as much geographical as it is ideological. ON likes the power it wields in the current constitutional set up and doesn't want to see it diminished. ON will simply not vote for a Western Canada based party.

Urban areas running the whole show. Goes to show you the value of an Electoral College.

Ontario voters are stupid enough to believe that they wield power, they haven't run anything in any liberal government since Trudeau came to power. Every PM has been from Quebec since then (short monthly stints by Clark Turner and Campbell excepted), and all their principal lieutenants were/are from Quebec. Not a clown from Ontario was consulted by Chretien before he launched his money for nothing sponsorship program.
End result Westerners despise Ontarians for cowtowing to Quebec and Quebecers despise Ontarians for their gullibility.
Maritimers just keep on begging...

The Tories have generally learned from their mistakes and will run an intelligent campaign. The media (predominently left-leaning Toronto Star and CBC) will, of course, attempt to portray Harper as an angry white male with a hidden agenda. I think voters will see through that message but not likely enough to garner a majority government. This time!
