This is a shoddy story from Drudge. Who did he talk to at CNN? How do we know this person was fired? Why wasn't the director who HAD to select the "X" to go out over the air fired, too?
This was someone's idea of a prank, and they deserve to be fired, and an apology issued.
I guess we'll just have to be satisfied by referring to him as "Mr. X."
