I have to admit that I don't know that much about him... Neither do the millions af repub and dems that watch him play the "good guy" on TV every week.

His recognition alone would go along way toward getting him elected. I don't think Hellary would even run if he was on the republican ticket. His command of the language would blow her or any other opponent out in the debates.

The question would be would he run... If you do a goggle search for "fred thompsom for president", you get about 24000 hits. If you search on ""john mccain for president", you get about 12000 hits. "hillary clinton for president" gets you 32000, but she's a candidate and Thompson isn't

You do know McCain is senile, don't you ? The media will pull out all the stops to make sure he gets the nomination, and as soon as he does, they will destroy him with a tidal-wave of saved-up "bits" of McCainia over the past 20+ years in Congress.
