Articles from the Chicago Tribune have to be excerpted.
Richard Colling, the author of the article, is an evangelical with a Ph.D in microbiology. He chairs the biology department at Olivet Nazarene University We had a big thread on him a year ago:

Seems pretty simple to me, you either believe that God created the word in six twenty four hour days or you believe God is a lair and the whole thing evolved in one way or another over a period of time ranging from eons (what ever they are0 to millions and even billions of years.
As for me, I'll go with God. But, that's just me.

It really comes down to this,
those who are true believers don't need to prove anything. The evidence speaks for itself. The Judeo Christian God means what He says and isn't limited in ability and certainly isn't an ape. The godless will believe otherwise.

The just shall live by faith.
Evolutionary theory should be studied closely by scientists without an prohibitive bias toward the one True God and His Christ; to dismiss all the holes and lack of science and anti science is wrong.
A the liberal mindset is a religious mindset that assumes fables and myths are all true despite scientific laws such as the 2nd law of thermodynamics and transmutation of species being totally violated in their religious like dismissal of all truth but that which they choose to belive. And they are so anti choice and anti science biased when it comes to disproving their false science. Their is none so blind as those who refuse to see.

I believe in God and I believe in evolution. I think evolution is the tool God used to create humans and all living things.

CNN had a special on I.D. Hearing what the Christian "teachers" had to say in the museum made me want to vomit. It is a disgrace the lies they feed to the kids. I understand they fear "Darwinism" as a tool of the left. But that is no excuse to debunk legitimate scientific evidence as fraud.

I've always imagined a conversation between the Lord and Moses going something like this:
The Lord: So, around fifteen billion years ago I got around to creating the universe. Within the first one billionth of a second, I had the fundamental forces established, such as nuclear forces, gravitation, and electro-magnetism.
Moses: O Lord, what is a billion?
The Lord: Ah, a billion is a one followed by nine zeroes.
Moses: O Lord, what then, is a zero?
The Lord: Hmm.
The Lord: In the beginning, I created the heavens and the earth...

"
The conclusions are crystal clear: Earth is very old. All life is connected. Evolution is a physical and biological reality."Uh, no. "B" does not follow "A" and "C" does not follow "A" and "B."
Let's actually see this "evidence," if it is so convincing. We constantly hear that it exists, but we never seem to get the privelege of eyeballing it ourselves.

He is not a Christian. He's a scientist who ornaments his devotion to his science-god with an ocassional thought of the real Creator.
If you look at creation demanding no thought of a Creator then you will never come up the a Christian view. Minus God's creative power, you do away with miracles, the virgin birth, the resurrection of Jesus, the resurrection of the dead, a future where God creates a new heaven and a new earth and gives us new bodies, etc.
It takes more faith to be a theistic evolutionist than anything else because you have absolutely nothing to base your faith on. All of Christian theology begins in Genesis. Only those with no real understanding of the Bible could think it doesn't matter. They need to learn to be honest.
Interpreting the fossil record has everything to do with the premises you start with.
