MADISONVILLE, Tenn. Authorities say a police officer who was fired after showing up for work under the influence of alcohol shot a gun at police during a five-hour standoff.
David Greaves, a sergeant with the Englewood Police Department who was fired from his job yesterday morning, surrendered to police later that day around 10:45 p-m.
The standoff began around 6 p-m when members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and the Madisonville Police Department went to check on Greaves, who was despondent and threatening suicide.
Authorities said Greaves fired a gun at them when they showed up at his home. None of the officers were injured.
Police say Greaves suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the knee,
He faces two counts of felony reckless endangerment.

I know what happened ... he bought a used Glock from a policeman with the LAPD. The gun just went off twice by itself, he would not shoot at his fellow buddies on the force.
