He'll be lucky if he doesn't get labeled as a sex offender and have to register with police any time he travels to another city.

How did he get a lighter on the plane?

How did he get a lighter on the plane? My wife and I forget to leave our lighters at home most of the time, and usually they never get noticed at the airport.

There is no way I could GO with that many people watching.

Obviously , the dude is a first-class wacko scumbag ...I mean , I've been drunk as a skunk , but never would have urinated on a commercial airliner in front of dozens of people . In order to set a precedent , he ought to be banned from flying for 2 years at least . Scum ...

"When you want to run a safe airline, we don't tolerate that type of activity on our aircraft."
. . .not to mention. . .their airline is intended to 'serve the public'. . .not the animals, fromdown on the farm. . .

those SOB's at TSA did not have a problem removing two new, dry, never used, in original package zippo lighters; but inadvertently left a pack of disposable bic lighters in the luggage.
Those crooks only take what they need and nothing more.
(if you are wondering: the lighters were requests/presents for co-workers in Africa)

There was another "unruly" passenger a few years ago that deficated on a food service tray on a United flight (I seem to recall) from Hawaii to Chicago.
I got to believe this Mark McGovern will feel pretty anguished once he sobers up.
It's been a long time since I've seen people drinking heavily on commercial flights. Most veterans know you've got to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and the alcohol just doesn't help.

"TSA did not have a problem removing two new, dry, never used, in original package zippo lighters" You should have placed those in checked baggage. They aren't a prohibited item.

We sure this is the same guy? The dude from the news story was from Orlando; this guy is apparently from the UK. Doesn't look much like him, either.

Well, having read the 'rest of his story'. . .can only agree to the probabilities that he was more than a bit over the top. . .or in his cups - so to speak - and hopefully. . .on some medication as well.
That said. . .one's name is important and he seems to depend on his. . .
. . .so hope this tortured Irishman has good friends. . .because he will need them. . .but looking at SMG; it appears he may be a radical/socialist, Irishman;. . .
. . . in which case, if true; he may not have real friends at all. . .and my sympathy is reduced by half. . .

I had them on checked baggage. When I complained to TSA was informed that no lighters of any kind are allowed in checked baggage and carry-ons; however, they could not explain why the zippo's were confiscated and bic lighters were not.

Interesting. I had my entire cigar kit (lighter, cutter, etc) confiscated once. You'd think they'd be more careful after the "shoe bomber" incident.
