This is not an issue I've focused on.
I have a basic mathematical question. Social Security and pensions in general cannot survive the baby boom's aging if younger workers are deported.
That's pretty much a period. Full stop. The retirees of the next 20 years or so are guaranteed to be destitute if the numbers of workers reduce more sharply than the numbers are currently projected to be. If illegals are presented with hoops to jump through to become fully documented and contributing to the various pension plans of the US, this is probably in a pure mathematical sense the only way to avoid tax increases.
As I said, I have not focused on this issue. Are the most avid advocates of deportation acknowledging the math and also advocating tax increases?
I would venture that at least half of the illegal aliens are working in the underground economy and are contributing zilch when it comes to payroll and income taxes.
Here's a thread on how these scams work in the construction biz:
Building industry wages probed (Immigrant Labor Scheme Alleged)
I think that you're right on this point. I have ranted on about the repurcussions of this as well. I forsee thirty years from now, lawsuits from illegals demanding their Social Security and talks of reparations and everything else. This has gone on too far already.
I have a basic answer. Socialism NEVER works. Socialist systems are guaranteed to fail. Social Security = Socialism. Therefore, Social Security will fail. Removing our borders to bring in cheap, third world labor will MAYBE postpone the failure of Socialist Security (at what cost) but it will still fail.
