BULL. This is the first salvo, long expected, on the scheme to get his temporary worker guest worker amnesty supported in Congress. He's a little behind the schedule but this is nothing unexpected and it's FAKE. Like his "conservative" fiscal agenda.

We need to demand no back-room deals, no on-paper enforcement.

We want the REAL DEAL, Mr. President: enforcement at the border and in the interior. Your administration has steadily DECREASED accountability for corporations hiring illegals. You called the Minute Men "vigilantes." You've not closed the three mile hole in the Operation Gatekeeper wall. You've not FUNDED all those extra border patrol you claimed to call for. We demand you hold Vincente Fox and Mexico accountable for the "rogue" Federales who act on behalf of the narco terrorist traffickers along our border.

The invasion must stop. We can bring freedom to Iraq, when are we bringing freedom to our Southern Border cities?

Sorry, Mr. President - Enforcement first. When the job market tightens up a bit and the casual labor spots empty out, then you can implement a guest worker program.

Here's a deal. For every 1,000,000 criminal invaders that Bush deports, he can let 100,000 guest workers return after they report to an embassy in their home country, go through the background check process, locate a sponsor in the U.S. to vouch for all education and healthcare and other costs, submit to health screening, and are finally permitted a TEMPORARY visa to enter. Once he deports the 10,000,000 (or more) criminal invaders already here, he'll have 1,000,000 guest workers at his disposal, all will have undergone proper background checks, health screenings, have proof of financial responsibility, and will be tracked at every point during their TEMPORARY stay here.

Nothing will come of it. It's all to get his numbers back up but not one person will be stopped from coming in.

Guest Workers" should be a definite no-go.

A guest worker program only would provide exploitive employers with cheap labor and saddle the American public with the medical and other social support costs for these people - in effect, subsidizing the exploiters of cheap labor.

Additionally, these people would comprise a permanent underclass of potentially disgruntled individuals who owe no allegience to America beyond securing cheap dollars for their work.

Further, these dollars would in large measure be returned to the economies of the third rate rat-hole nations from which these people come.

Additionally, this would constitute just one more in an disgusting series of "amnesties" for illegal invaders, encouraging further individuals to invade America.

If there is a justifiable need for more laborers in America, we should increase the immigration quotas ACROSS THE BOARD for ALL countries.

This would prevent an inundation of people all coming from essentially the same society, and it would encourage assimilation of these new immigrants into American society and discourage development of ethnic enclaves. It would also provide us with individuals who want to become American citizens and who would have loyalty to this country rather than to some third rate foreign rate hole.

Is there some flaw in my thinking?

Is George Bush so obtuse that they he can't think this out for himself?

What is the rationale for his continued adherence to this flawed policy?
