The fact that the MSM is running with a story like this is NOT good news. It is a trial balloon for the Democrats to take a stance that will resonate with the public for the next round of elections.

What this shows is that the Republicans have fumbled the ball on this play. If the Republicans try to pick it up and run with it, the Democrats pull the "racism" gambit. OTOH, the Democrats are getting credit for toughness on the issue, with Clymers like Bill Richardson and Janet Napolitano making all sorts of anti-illegal immigration noise, but not actually intending to do anything about it, since both depend upon the "Latino" vote, both legal and illegal.

The idiot-savant Karl Rove's theory of "Mexicans as the Republicans of the Future," is not playing out too well.

I agree. Lester Holt is one of MsNBC's few bright spots. Even during the last presidential campaign, I couldn't tell his political affiliation, and that to me is the mark of a good journalist. I assume (almost always a bad thing...assumption, that is) that he is liberal, but his reporting always seemed very objective. I had hoped that Lester would get a shot at Tom Brokaw's chair when he left. That would have been quite a coup for NBC. Perhaps CBS should look at Lester for their permanent anchor job, it couldn't hurt them.

Nope, he sure hasn't. And I am waiting. `Cause I want to get one. `Cause if we are all sooooo damn concerned about not "offending" some illegal alien that is breaking about a dozen federal laws just by their presence in this country and we are sooooo worried about their "rights" then I am thoroughly and completely OFFENDED by the President of the United States implying I am a vigilante by my going to the border and phoning in reports of persons I see with my own eyes wadeing across the Rio Grand at a location other than a designated Point of Entry.

Since all these politicians are gonna be tripping over each other to apologize to the illegal aliens then I want one too. Until I get one I will continue to recommend to anyone saying they will withhold their Republican vote that they vote Constitution party so their vote is counted. That will be votes the Republicans will have to look at and say "How could we have gotten that vote?"
