Hi Lainie!

"A Turner switchboard operator was fired today after we were alerted to a conversation the operator had with a caller in which the operator lost his temper and expressed his personal views -- behavior that was totally inappropriate.

So was the X an accident, or not?

Sounds like the X wasn't an issue, except to the caller.

The switchboard op was fired for expressing personal views. So who put up the X and why wasn't (s)he fired too? After all, that was a personal view as well....

When I read the thread about this, the impression I was left with was that it might have been an error, but it was an operator or technician error and not a mechanical or software one. Somebody might have been pranking. The poster that noted this mentioned that somebody could possibly lose their job (at least their position) over the gaffe, even if not intentionally done.
