So far it's AM Radio and the CNN "X".

I'm with Matt about AM radio. Most people at work think AM is for idiots, that you should only listen to the radio for music. Music's OK, but I think it tends to dumb people down. Maybe you don't agree with the talk radio host, but at least it makes you think, and it can help keep you informed. This country is very un-informed. If it was informed, then the bias on TV wouldn't work, because it would be recognizable if you were famailiar with the situation, and it doesn't take much to be familiar.
Music all the time, though, does synch with the prevailing American demand of being entertained all the time. People seem to live to be entertained.

This is an interesting phone call. I started listening to AM radio during the first Persian Gulf war. I wanted to learn more about what was going on and tuned into a number of AM stations. from there I discovered Rush and Howie Carr. From there I was hooked. My radio has not been tuned to FM i years

WABC in New York still has football. How anyone can follow football on radio is beyond me. Anyway, I guess a lot of us listen on WABC off air and that would explain the quiet. I'm only in and out here until they deign to switch to Matt.

That's the announced schedule that I heard earlier. KOGO is pretty reliable streaming as is KFI.
Looks like everyone is still doing the Thanksgiving thing.
I'm glad Matt isn't doing the Wal-mart Christmas or Lowes Tree crap. It's been a long 4 days of junk talk and it's time for something related to news. Wilkow was good today however.

That was back in 2000. The way the it was "shot/panned" was on a word, "democrat" or "bureaucrat", and "rat" was displayed
in a couple of frames, while fading, iirc.

Back around '90, folks would ask if I listened to Rush. I thought they meant the band. When they said he was a talk radio guy, I had to investigate...

I started with AM sports talk and quickly switched to Rush and now Laura and Savage and Drudge and Tammy Bruce. I never listen to music on the radio anymore, save on long drives.....

I had to make a trip a little before Matt came on and switched to FM, you guessed it, Christmas music on a CW station. YIKES.
