THOMAS SOWELL (on Fox News Now)

Posted on 11/27/2005 2:43:49 PM PST by Dittohead68

Thomas Sowell: In the Right Direction Tuesday, November 22, 2005 ARCHIVE November 22, 2005•Thomas Sowell: In the Right Direction Part 1: Sat., November 26 at 5:30 p.m. ET Part 2: Sun., November 27 at 5:30 p.m. ET Hosted by Fred Barnes Author and columnist Thomas Sowell's work has been called "myth-busting" and a "bath of cold logic." His fearless takes on everything from race relations to the economy have served as guideposts for conservative thinkers for the last 30 years. Sowell, now 75 years old, was born into poverty in the rural South and raised in Harlem. He was a high school dropout who would eventually graduate Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University, years before affirmative action and the civil rights movement. How did this poor minority student go from menial labor in New York City’s Meat Packing District to short lists for cabinet positions in the Reagan White House? And, with a lifetime of experience and study behind him, what would he do to insure that others, eager to follow in his footsteps, get the same opportunities? Though he is a prolific writer, Thomas Sowell grants few interviews, yet he sat for a candid, one-on-one with Fred Barnes, co-host of "The Beltway Boys." What follows is a no-holds-barred look at the key issues facing America in the 21st century and what we need to do to make this a better place to live and work for everyone. Radio commentator, Rush Limbaugh makes a rare appearance in this program, which will be aired in two, half-hour installments.

I wrote them down :-)

1)compared to what?
2) at what cost?
3)do you have any hard evidence for that?

I'm glad somebody has the guts to give Thomas Sowell a forum on a national television broadcast. Most of the networks are scared to death of Sowell and what he represents - - independent, thoughtful conservatism from a black perspective.

^^Agree there. The guy has done more to promote true equality [we all are indeed the same]than a 1000 Jacksons or the other crybabies.

I have opined more than once on this forum that, having read a great number of Dr. Sowell's books, I must conclude that he is the smartest man in America, bar none.

>>>"Mr. Sowell is without a doubt a national treasure. Simply a brilliant man. I do hope the WH has a ear to his thoughts on any number of subjects"<<<

Please... The Whitehouse is full of Politicians (the President is out of the Country) and a Politician doesn't have what it takes to think, listen or understand, they have this giant umbrella of deny-ability and ignorance so they can stand for nothing and they can stand for everything, like Lawyers they have their own language and the sad part is we let them speak it, to represent us. Both Parties are represented equally. (Sorry Congressman Billybob, you are like a Diamond in a Corn Field... just the way I see it, Diamonds are rare in Cornfields, but if you found a Diamond in a Cornfield would it still be a Cornfield or is it now a Diamond Mine?)

Sidebar... most IGNORANT and possibly stupid person that I have ever met in my life was a Politician, and that is saying something.

I just sent foxnews an email asking them the same question, as well as whether transcripts or DVDs were available.
