PC certianly has killed hollywood storytelling.

I had never seen "Mrs. Doubtfire" with Robin Willams until this weekend. Great movie, but terrible ending.

It should have been a sweet love story how the lovable Robin Williams wins his wife back. But instead it ended all PC, with the wife not being able to live with Williams, only just allow him to see the kids without a monitor. How wonderful. /sarc

I don't know why any conservative would like that movie, regardless of the ending. I didn't blame Williams' wife in the movies for dumping him at the beginning of the movie -- not at all. The wife makes the money; he just has a fine time entertaining himself & the kids. In the court scene he admits he has no job and is not making much of an attempt to find one. So he loses custody. So then he -- gag -- puts on a dress, and becomes a nanny. This is supposed to make his wife respect him? He does, finally, luck into a job, but it's an accident, playing (playing again! all he seems to know how to do is play) with the dinosaurs at the TV. I's not a "sweet love story." because in fact wifey didn't love him anymore; and why should she? Because he loves the kids & knows how to keep them having fun? That is such a Disney idea.

I think the average woman wants a bit more. Like (even if you are not a Christian) some leadership as a husband.

PS. I loved Goblet of Fire. Walk The Line was good too. I haven't seen Pride and Prejudice yet. The mini series of a few years ago, with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth, was terrific; kind of wondered why another P&P was even thought to be a good idea.
