Texas Woman Mauled to Death by Six Dogs
Nov 27 2:52 PM US/Eastern
THORNDALE, Texas
A pack of six dogs mauled a 76-year-old woman to death as she worked in her yard, authorities said.
Lillian Loraine Stiles was riding on a lawn mower in her front yard Saturday when she was confronted by the dogs, described as pit bull- rottweiler mixed breeds, said Milam County Sheriff Charlie West.
Investigators think Stiles was attacked when she got off the mower and headed into her house.
Stiles had severe bites over her entire body, and a man who tried to help her was bitten on one leg, authorities said.
The dogs were found at the home of Stiles' neighbor, Jose Hernandez.
The sheriff's department will send the findings of its investigation to the Milam County District Attorney's Office, which will decide if any criminal charges will be filed against Hernandez.
Thorndale is located about 70 miles west of College Station.
If?
IF?..
But these dogs are so loving and gentle.
Outlaw pit bulls.
I think I'll pack some heat the next time I mow my yard.
This thought just occurred to me.
People say, "Guns don't kill people -- people kill people." And that's absolutely true.
But pit bulls (and Rottweilers?) are like guns with minds of their own. If guns ran around, randomly shooting folks, and anti-gun lobby would have a point. It doesn't, because they don't.
But the anti-pit-bull lobby... it seems to me that pit-bull protagonists are trying to adapt the pro-gun lobby's arguments to defend pit-bulls. It isn't working, because unlike guns, dogs do act independently of their owners.

Six dogs? Shoot, I can handle six dogs. 5 in the magazine and one in the chamber on my 12 ga. More than six? Well, I'd have to reload, I guess.
If this woman had been in my neighborhood, she might have gotten bitten once or twice. After that, there'd be dead dogs lying on the lawn.

Loosing his six deadly weapons on his neighbors had just as predictable a result.
Life in prison seems about right.
For a minute I thought Cindy Sheehan was involved. Too bad.
Indeed it does, but I doubt he'll get anything close to that...
Why would anyone want a pit bull? They're ugly and mean.
Oh, thats right - I almost forgot - dogs are just like their owners.
These breeds . . . and a few others . . . are good for only one thing: target practice.
Hope the Milam County D.A. crucifies Hernandez . . . and his good-for-nothing animals.
And the owner.
I'm struck that the gentlest dog I know is a Rotweiler. She's two houses up, and scared to death of my little 12 pound terrier, who's a little aggressive. My daughter regularly takes our beagle over to play with her friend the Rot.
