Well, here in Maryland, the lack of culling has allowed deer herds to grow excessively. This has resulted in both "wasting disease" as well as increased instances of road accidents caused by deer wandering onto the roads.

As to your duck picture. Here they are not native (they are from California). They are called "Kudzu" as they breed like crazy and drive out the native species, e.g. black duck and bufflehead.

So, you might try a different set of pictures, maybe nutria? or perhaps snakehead?

Guess I will have to start hunting in Maryland. I live in PA and our deer herd in the mountains is just about depleated. Oh, the Game Commission doesn't think so but just ask the hunters.

I'm leaving with my Grandson in about 3 hours for Bedford and two days of hunting, we hunt where I hunted as a young man and there are very few deer remaining in the area we hunt and it use to be a great area.

The reason for the decline in the deer population was the work of the management done by the Game Commission. I really believe all they could see was dollar signs from the sale of licenses. Of course the hunter that had to take 3 deer to be happy didn't help either. You can get a regular deer tag and in most areas two anterless tags.

I haven't heard about any CWD in PA but one must have to think its here since WVA and NY have cases of it. Wasn't aware it was in Maryland.
