KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Four U.S. soldiers face disciplinary action for burning the bodies of two Taliban rebels _ a videotaped incident that sparked outrage in Afghanistan _ but they will not be prosecuted because their actions were motivated by hygienic concerns, the military said Saturday.
TV footage recorded Oct. 1 in a violent part of southern Afghanistan showed American soldiers setting fire to the bodies and then boasting about the act on loudspeakers to taunt insurgents suspected to be hiding in a nearby village.

Bump
Sorry - did a search before posting and nothing came up.
Why? Violation of some EPA rule?
Exactly!!
This obsession with recording everything because we can has put more butts in slings than anything else I can think of!
Maybe overcooked 'em?
Exactly!
the DEMS,MSM and hate America crowd are gleeful with every story of this nature, their fake smug looks of concern when they annouce another death or their non-stop bottom line reporting about every mishap, their goal is to assist in the defeat of America and putting that blame on Dubya and the ultimate return of power to the DEMS and socialist crowd. Anyone who thinks they care about the troops must be smoking something, I wish they would pull every rat's negative comment about the military ie;"these people are paid enough, they have free housing, medical and dental what more do they want, I do not care about their whining" guess which concerned DEMrat made that comment, but of course the GOP does not have the balls or spine to go ballistic and expose these bastards and their history of non-support.
Yrs, there was an excessive amount of particulates..
The problem isn't that they burned the bodies, the problem is that they talked trash about it. I see the PSYOP value of doing this, i.e. get the enemy to come out and fight but this was ill advised. By spitting in the face of Islam you not only make the enemy mad you also alienate your muslim allies. Hence the military was forced to make an investigation to appease our allies.
Bottom line is that you have to weigh out the advantages of your actions versus the consequences they will incur.
I'm just glad the soldiers involved didn't get smoked and that some savvy JAG figured out a way to write it off as field sanitation.
