Lord God,
As we begin this Advent season, there are many places we pray where You will appear.
Appear in the lives of our brave young troops fighting for our freedom overseas. We pray Your appearing to them will mean salvation to the uttermost, for they are the most in danger.
Appear in the lives of our President, Vice-President, and other national leaders. We pray Your appearing to them will result in wisdom for the trying times. Please raise heroes who will see beyond inter-party strife and see instead to the very best interests of our nation.
Appear in the lives of our citizens and others residing within our borders. We pray Your appearing will inspire a determination to build strong families for a strong nation. Grant the discernment to reject the wrong and cling to the right.
Appear in our churches and in their worship of You. We pray Your appearing will kindle a fire that will revive the fainting hearts and rebirth the dying spirit.
We pray for Your coming to us this Advent Season, O Lord of Eternity. We pray in the name of Jesus; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
