Get a Sig!

Or a EAA. Excellent quality at half the price of a Sig.
Beretta 96.
Agree, of course.
Or hold an Auto without a limp wrist, and even my Luger will cycle correctly.

However, the Colt M1911A1 pistol--excellent as it was--weighs a lot by modern pistol standards and requires quite a bit of practice for decently accurate shooting. I'd rather go with the lighter (but just as effective) Beretta 92FS instead.
Possibly an ammunition problem with hard primers? Did they try other brands of ammo? The same ammo in other semiautomatic handguns?
From the article:
In training, LAPD officers primarily use lower-quality ammunition than is used in the field.
However, that Beretta 92FS is 9mm so I wouldn't call it "just as effective" as a .45 cal. Although the 96FS in .40 cal would work very nicely.
You sound like my ex-wife. When I had to buy a Bersa, for budgetary reasons, she said: "That's ok for you, but I'm getting another Sig".
She thinks her life is worth about $300 more than mine. She may be right. ;>)

Never liked Glocks! HK is far better choice. (or FN HP).
Kind of like comparing "spray and pray" with "stand, aim, and shoot".
Hey folks, look at this here. We have the .25 ACP, the .32ACP, the .38ACP/Super and the .45 ACP. For the unitiated, "ACP" stand for Automatic Colt Pistol.
Get a 1911 style pistol, and learn finger/trigger control.
The only other cartridges worth mention are the 10mm Norma and the .40 S&W. The S&W stands for short and weak.
As for gun design, the EAA/CZ75 is an excellent piece since it can be carried cocked and locked in the proper manner.
What tickles me is the pinnacle of self loading pistol design was reached sometime between 1911 and 1935 by the same man, yet people who glean most of their info from hollywood and what the gummint buys as sweeteners in diplomatic deals look to the Sig and Beretta. I don't need no stinking decockers. That is what the trigger already does. I had sooner carry three revolvers than one double action only self loader. Take a good look at the welded together slide on your Sig, along with the breechface being held in by a roll pin. Plastic guns don't rust, but that is the only good point.
"Light strikes" have been a bane of ALL firearms that cock on the closing of the bolt.
The bolt is the slide on a self loading pistol.
REAL PISTOLS have a device called a hammer which is recocked as the first action after firing.
With right ammo it can be as good as .45.But one of my favorite guns is FN made Hi Power in .40s&w.
LOL, it's like inventing self-driving nails...they just don't drive themselves into those studs with those little springs...

Peace through superior firepower!, does not jam and goes bang every time you pull the trigger.
