The Associated Press and United Press International are reporting that another Democratic hawk, Norm Dicks (D-Washington), has changed his position on the Iraq war. They are both quoting from and referencing a Seattle Times article first published about 16 hours ago entitled “Defense hawk Dicks says he now sees war as a mistake.” Yet, they are conveniently ignoring previous statements made by Dicks concerning the war that were also reported by the Seattle Times.
Today’s article stated:
“Dicks now says it was all a mistake — his vote, the invasion, and the way the United States is waging the war."

Wait until the Saddam trial & conviction and the disbursement of what he did; the election with Sunni participation; and the gradual withdrawal of our troops over the next year +. These idiots are all gonna lose at the ballot box. Even better, they will look like fools on talk shows and debates.
The ONLY Democrat that would make REAL news in reversing his stance on the war would be Leiberman.
He's the closest the Dems have to a Hawk, and even he isn't perfect. Still I give him credit for not backing down to the moonbats in the primaries over the war. It took guts, principle and character lacking in the rest.
All the Democrats are doing is solidifying their dovish image to the public. Getting their friendlies in the press to call them "hawks" doesn't chance anything. Still the 'cut and run' party of aging peace niks.

All these democrats need to be replaced, and steadfast Republicans need to take over their positions. It's the only way to keep America safe in this day and age.

Doesn't matter. Dicks is invincible. He's been there since the Ice Age. Started out in 76 or 78, can't remember which one for sure.
His district is actually getting more conservative, and if he retires, we might have a chance at it. But we'd have better luck knocking off Ted Kennedy with Alan Keys till then.
Only someone who is heavily into recreational drugs would think these two fairies "changed their minds about Iraq." THIS IS ABOUT THE 'RATS WANTING TO GET THEIR HANDS BACK INTO OUR WALLETS AND CHECKBOOKS. NOTHING MORE! If it takes the destruction of President Bush and the war on terror, so be it. The Commie 'RATS want their power back.

Unfortunately, it seems to me that it takes this sort of tragic thing to keep Americans focused on the threats that we face.
The lefties will just blame Bush's war for inciting the jihadists and therefore, you guessed it, it will be Bush's fault
I am sure that you're right. Bush will get the blame. Nevertheless, another attack on our soil will do marvelous things as regards focusing our attention on what needs to be done, i.e., strike back ferociously at our enemy and those that stand in the way of our striking back will be rightly regarded as unpatriotic and cowardly to boot.
