To report on it would have violated the "Perky One"'s contract.
There is a clause in her contract that says that she will not participate in any story that requires her not to be perky. The only exception in that clause is when she is bashing Bush or conservatives. At which time she can switch from Perky mode to attack dog mode.
'...attack dog mode.' I like that. Her snide remarks always bring a bow-wow look to her face.
