I have a well and my own treatment plant....about 300 feet of dirt!
There's no substitute for a nice deep well. A friend of mine in Arkansas has one about that deep and the water is great to drink. I watched the well guys put in a new pump once, that's how I know how deep it is. Did you know they put the pump on the bottom? They had to cut a hole in the top of the well house and use a boom truck to lift the pipe out 40 feet at a time. It was quite a chore but I could tell they had done it before. It only took them a few hours.
