Thanks for posting this, it brought back some great memories.
I could see the Matterhorn from my back yard as a kid.

My Dad worked for Hughes Aircraft as a QC Inspector during the 60's and they would rent out the entire park for employees once a year. After having gone using the A,B,C,D,E system, it was a treat as a kid to be able to ride any ride as often as we wanted.

My dad was at Hughes too, at the same time. Prolly saw you at those company nights. No tickets needed; we were special. And therefore cool.
