I believe that the original post said that the Mexican flag stood alone. That is not acceptable on US soil. Any foreign flag in a formal setting, to include all government buildings, should be places so it is lower than the accompanying US flag.The Mexican flag was put up there to be honored above our flag. That's what the rules say.

You are right on. My comments concerned NHL venues where I stand for BOTH anthems, not an "in your face" situation like the school fiasco.

Umm.. not exactly. United States Code 36 Chapter 10 states that:

When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace.
