So yes TV does affect behavior otherwise we wouldn't be spending so much money producing learning videos.

I didn't say that. My statement was the corny one-liner below it. But I am a teacher too. Yes, you do need visual aids. Nonetheless, at least for my first graders, I don't use very many videos at all and they still learn quite a bit.
Kudos to your wife for going into teaching.
