Some good points there. My problem with Kolbe wasn't the fact he was homosexual, but that he just simply voted wrong on matters where it counted most. He's likely more to have to answer for his pro-infanticide position on judgment day then whose fudge he packed. I don't necessarily have a problem with homosexuals serving in the Republican party - as long as they don't vote like liberals.
Has Mike Fitzpatrick turned out to be that bad ? I thought the difference between him and the horrid Greenwood was like night and day... Then, of course, I haven't seen his ACU ratings, yet.
Was not worth posting to start with. If you were going to post it anyway, post it as General Chat and Vanity please, not News. Amazing how "conservatives" are all for Small Govt until it comes to Immigration or Trade then they want the biggest, most intrusive, expensive Federal Govt program they can dream of to try and reimposed the failed protectionist/isolationist policies of the 1930s.
Just so. Republican voters tend to a degree of knee-jerk morality, so they may vote out someone who is exposed as a homosexual or an adulterer. I would prefer not to have such people as my leaders, but if they can deal with sensibly and still do well, then I will support them. After all, Ronald Reagan was divorced, and it didn't hurt his moral seriousness as president.
I guess I would rather have a Republican homosexual senator quietly but openly admit what he is, which would eliminate the threat of exposure as a blackmail handle, which Democrats have gotten so expert at using (as they proved at the time of the clinton impeachment), but say something like, "That's my position, but it's a private matter, and has no bearing on my conduct in office."
I happen to believe that private virtue and public virtue are not usually entirely separable. It's easier to be a good leader if you have good private morals on the basic issues. But I'd certainly rather have a generally good homosexual Republican who is electable, than a lousy, corrupt, leftist Democrat who might probably take his place.

I was not aware of Mike's pro-life bona fides, but it is indeed good to see that he's not Greenwood II in that regard. I also will give Mike some credit for voting with the Republicans on the second go-round at the budget.
As long as he doesn't hitch his wagon to that disgusting "Tuesday Club" and decide that he should be a part of the "moderate" coalition, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. I don't mind if he's a little bit of a "maverick" on some issues (you're right - - Bucks County has suffered from a steady oozing of infected Democrat puss from Philadelphia), as long as he's there for the conservatives when his vote is crucial.
