Powell is positioning himself for a "disgraceful" disavowal of the Bush doctrine, and also for a switch to the Democratic Party. His remarks are political, and indicate an interest possibly in the Dem VP spot in 2008.

Just look at what Powell's own chief of staff said recently about Cheney and Rumsfeld. He called them members of a "cabal." Now how exactly can public officials with a fully legitimate portfolio as policymakers at the highest level of government possibly be a cabal, since a cabal, according to Webster's, is "the artifices and intrigues of a group of persons secretly united to bring about an overturn or usurpation especially in public affairs? Was the government plotting to overturn and usurp itself?

Powell is off the reservation and positioning himself to become a Democrat. Mark my words.

No chance.

Him and Hillary Clinton hate, loathe each other to no point.

Say the name of one to the other and watch the faces.

Powell is about the money not the politics anymore, this is a self publicity thing that has a nice payoff to him.

Powell had tantrums and fights and quit because of the Clintons, don't confuse his greed with ambition.
