1Cr 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

But I'm sure there is an exemption clause in there somewhere for the SBC.

Kind of like the additional commandments they add to the original ten.

Having grown up Baptist, I know also know the Cultural 10 Commandments...

1- Thou shalt not go to a movie. (just rent it when it comes out on video).

2- Thou shalt not play baseball on Sundays. (just sit in front of the TV and watch other people violate the Sabbath).

3- Thou shalt not make mom fix dinner on the day of rest (so go to a restaurant and make the waitress violate the Sabbath)

etc....

Thou shalt not make love in the shower lest someone spot you and think you are dancing.

Thou shalt not recognize another SBC as thou passeth through the doors of the local liquor store.

And when I was in the mideast for two years the local SBC church we attened did not check on my family or bother to send me a single email.

But they never failed to send me a letter reminding me that they missed my donations.

In my Southern Baptist childhood, we ate TV dinners on Sundays for exactly that reason.
