There's an ex-gay speaker and author named Mike Haley that has some insight some of us may find of value.

Flippant remarks, while we all make them about many different people, don't really help. He also says we should be careful in how we use the word choice in regards to same-sex attraction. The feelings some have in regards to same-sex attraction are not a choice but the behavior is a choice. Sometimes it's hard for folks to understand the difference.
