The only thing missing from this report was comment on the conversation the leftist had with "Apple Blossom". DARN! Those inclusions in reports are always so much fun to read about as the leftists usually make such fools of themselves in confrontaions. I was out of town, and was just told of your inquiry this evening...
The man who came over to our secondary corner claims he is a pacifist. I asked him if he was aware of some of the things Code Pink has done or endorses, I mentioned the $650,000 given to the Iraqi resistance, he said that was humanitairan aide. I said "not entirely", and explained that they aren't going to come right out and say that. He said he would look into it...we'll see. I did caution him to fully investigate Code Pink to make sure he agrees with ALL they stand for before he continues a relationship with them.
I tried to explain that demonstrating against a war in front of a hospital with a group who gave money to the other side that puts soldiers in hospitals is in poor taste. I said that there are no policy makers in Walter Reed, only soldiers trying to recover, and suggested that their demonstration be taken to a different location. He said I had a good point. It will be interesting to see if he comes back. I wasn't there the Friday after Thanksgiving, so I'm not sure if he's still there.
If you check bmwcyle's pictures, there is a good shot of the entire Code Pink group with their backs turned to the bus full of soldiers coming back from Fran O'Brians. I guess that's how they demonstrate support for the troops!
