Since introduction of the iPod product line in fiscal 2002, Apple sold over 21 million iPods.

why do I need this again? So you can copy all those 8-tracks onto the Ipod and will no longer need the haul the 8-track player that looks like a suitcase around with you!!

Uh ... I just went to the Apple Store web site, and it lists all iPod models as "ships within 24 hours".
I'm sure they're popular - I intend to get another one myself - but let's not go overboard here, Mr. Crutchfield Guy.

I opted for the Mac Mini. Apple makes cool products that are eye-catching as well as functional. Unfortunately until recently, the company has had a reputation for being mucho expensive.

I pods just don't have the power to drive a good pair of Sennheisers so I'll stick with my Sony MD recorder.

Thinking about taking the plunge myself. I was told that there is a lot more music available for mp3/wma players, especially if you are interested in classical and oldies.
I've been looking at the 20G Zen Sleek.

Ipods suck. Dos is good.Pretty soon all these slaves to fashion are going to wise up and realize what a great machine the TRS-80 still is.

I imagine I'll only use it for the FM feature. Seems convenient not to carry CDs anymore.
Plus, the radio's volume (sorry... "gain" *rolleyes*) in my car is louder than the CD player.

Not just music. You can download Rush Limbaugh's and Laura Ingraham's podcasts on your I-pod with their software and listen to your favorite conservative programming whenever you like.

Another sheeple feeding-frenzy. Pet Rocks, Beenie-Babies... The list never quits with the followers.
Personally, I'm interested in the iPod technology because I have a very large house, with five sound systems, including my boat. It appears that an iPod would be a good fit for my logistical requirements. Aside from that, I think that I will "iPod" until the market stabilizes supply & demand.

Its popular because you can listen to stuff on the go and you can sync it with both Windows and MacOS computers. And as a gadget, it doesn't weigh that much.
