Why wait 12 hours then agree to a mob approved numbering system ?
I can't imagine the mob devising a system that was anything other than first-come-first-served. Maybe they all got a number and then made themselves comfortable instead of standing in line all night. Then the manager wanted to start a brand new line when the store opened. I would have rioted too.

About an hour before sales opened, manager came out with raffle tickets, everyone got one and a lottery was held. People lined up by number. Fair system, and no one had to wait in line for 24 hours just to see a Jimmy Buffett show.
