Well I do prefer an exposed sidearm...
It really doesn't matter to me, but the libs really panic when they see you with one.

Allowing Wisconsin residents to carry concealed firearms may not reduce crime. If anything, crime may increase and there will be, without a doubt, more firearms in our homes and on our streets.

MAY not reduce crime? MAY increase crime? How about some facts, lad? Why don't you check a study of real life effects before you lecture us about what MAY happen, given the level of research you have out into this piece.

Ahh...Wisonsin. Perhaps the only state as liberal as Massachusetts and California...and I live in Massachusetts, so I know.

Madison is a nest of liberal moonbattery.

Your tag line, if you yourself doesn't become a police statistic. Too many innocent civilians have been killed by over zealous cops.

Sorry but in a way I agree; maybe we should be allowed to wear holsters, then they won't be concealed.

I agree that retired law enforcement professionals should be permitted to carry a concealed firearm

In other words you want the right to carry but deny me the same. Bite me!

Most of what I'd say was already said very well here. Some LEOs just don't seem to live in the real world. Most of the ones I know, do and are fully supportive of the good guys carrying.

I am with you on that. I think we should all be carrying firearms. I suspect you might see less road rage...:)

Well, could it be that Wisconsinites are different from everyone else? [Must be so, or they'd all have run away from there by now]. After all, he lives there. Maybe in his locality/ies there are visibly unstable and disturbed people in unusually large numbers? If so, I would understand his opinion. :-)

The Wisconsin law against carrying a concealed firearm has worked effectively for over 130 years.

For you, officer. For you. But then, totalitarianism is "that set of rules which makes the policeman's job easiest".

Adam, What makes you a superman able to carry a weapon while the rest of us are mere peons, unable to do so?

And yet, in all the years I've been giving firearms training classes for military, law enforcement and civilians, it's always the cops that have accidents. It's always the cops that have the elitest attitude then make the mistakes. It's always the cops that don't want to listen and think they know it all.

Cops in general have a higher rate of negligent discharges, shooting when shooting is not called for and so forth. AND NO, it's not because "they carry more than non-leo's". That cop out is a load of garbage. The reason is that many LEO's have the wrong attitude, see the gun as just another part of the uniform, and don't care.

I will always feel more comfortable around non-LEO's with guns than I will around cops with guns.

Mike

Thank you for your opinion. With your background, it brings value.

I strongly support the ability for people to defend themselves, but ...I don’t believe that carrying a concealed firearm is the only way to accomplish this. I don't have any actual suggestions on how people are suppose to accomplish this.

There are a lot of responsibilities that come with carrying a concealed firearm and being able to effectively use it against someone in their self-defense or in the defense of another human being.... Though, of course, I hope you won't notice my saying this has nothing to do with what people are suppose to do to defend themselves.

I agree that retired law enforcement professionals should be permitted to carry a concealed firearm ... because the inability to write a cogent thought shouldn't prevent someone from exercising the use of deadly force if they used to carry a badge.

I believe that there is no credible evidence that carrying a concealed firearm reduces crime ... because I make it a point never to believe statistics I don't like.

I agree that retired law enforcement professionals should be permitted to carry a concealed firearm as long as they follow state and federal laws and those policies presented to them by their former law enforcement agencies.

I guess some folks are more equal than others . . .

Is it time yet?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a push for that too... wouldn't be surprised if there are states where off-duty cops can't carry...

may is such a good word to use in this case. may implies there is a possibility, even if its 1:1,000,000.
its kinda like me saying i may support hillary for president. of course that would probably mean that the 1:1,000,000,000 possibility that she's running against a kennedy has happened..
using may means you don't have to back up your answer with a fact.

Several years ago, in the city where I live, a female police officer had a suspect sitting in the back of her squad car. He did something to prompt her to fire her tazer gun at him. Only thing is, she mistakenly grabbed her firearm and shot him in the chest, killing him instantly.

The point of this story is that obviously, only cops are qualified to carry firearms. Us peasants just can't handle that kind of responsibility.
