Here's some Thanksgiving Dinner ammunition.

And something to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.

Since this year it's just me, Hubby, Mom AND maybe the guy next door, and ex-LAPD motorcyle cop, I don't think I'll have anything to worry about!!!

Thanks! I enjoyed the read. It is interesting to note that, as the grown-ups at the table, conservatives are the ones who usually just stop talking in order to maintain the peace.

When the leftist visiting our house comes to dinner tomorrow and starts in on the president and the war this is what I'm going to say:

"Gee, when Clinton signed the Iraqi Liberation Act and spoke in frightening terms about the WMD there and the dangers they posed to the United States, don't you think it was a little irresponsible that he didn't actually DO anything about that danger?"

Oh, and I'm trying to decide if I want to put ALL the pictures of the president that we have around the house in strategic locations, or just leave the one up in the study.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

Happy Thanksgiving, Howlin. I am hoping we avoid politics tomorrow...but I know I will not sit quiet if the liberal wing of family and friends gets going :)

Funny, we had this discussion on ATRW this morning. We exchanged strategies on how to deal with relatives who want to bring up politics so that they can attack President Bush (and us).

I am well-prepared. I think the day that I walked out of the room (in my own house) while my sister was starting in may have conveyed the message. I will not tolerate it. People can keep their mouths shut and discuss something else (gardening, movies, children, home decor, television, etc.) or I am outta there. The alternative is me going nuclear, and since I am the oldest I feel I have a responsibility to keep the family together.

By the way, I have noticed two things:

1. It is always democrats who bring up the political arguing. They somehow feel compelled to insult and ridicule the President and conservatives in a family setting.

2. It is only since the Clinton administration started that the political disagreements in my family have become so acrimonic. My family has always been divided politically, but until about 15 years ago any discussions were simply good-natured ribbing. Since Clinton came to office, it can quickly deteriorate into all-out war. I blame Clinton's example of the constant campaign, the war room, and personally attacking all of his opponents.
