Sorry
for my dumb typos FReepers!
I must have been typing with only my left hand while taking notes and grabbing a snack or coffee.
I have done a little legal recording of phone conversations using voice-actuated or manually switched mini-cassette recorders and using a simply cable and adapter transferred them onto VCR tapes (add more volume and sounds nearly perfect on most any VCR/TV playback) for attorneys to use in a handy format with video on screen - the pauses I heard did not sound much different then may tapes I have heard - but I myself use simple Radio Shack suction cup mikes right on any standard phone handset and have always gotten perfect crystal clear results.
Before attempting this - check any and all state statutes in the states at both ends of your phone calls - a "one-party" state like Connecticut is OK - but recall what one state AG did to Linda Tripp for recording calls from one state to Monica Lewinski in Washington DC.
An activist democrat Florida couple, Congressman Saddam McDermott, and the New York Times may get away with illegally intercepting, monitoring, recording, transferring, and then publishing private cellphone conversations between Newt Gingrich and several other Republicans in Congress without prosecutor "Patsy" Fitzgerald blinking an eye - but you won't!
Also never attempt to record an practicing attorney, physican, or clergyman by phone or at their office or home - More than one attorney is now doing time for using a hidden recorder left under his bed in his own home to catch a cheating wife. (One in CT is for sure!)
