In violation of CIA regulations that bar contact with reporters without permission, Joseph Wilson's agency-employed wife Valerie Plame apparently accompanied him to a breakfast meeting with New York Times reporter Nicholas Kristof in which they discussed the ambassador's controversial mission to Niger one month before Plame allegedly was "outed" by Robert Novak.
In a WND column, investigative reporter Jack Cashill points to a "stunning admission" by Wilson in a January 2004 Vanity Fair magazine story that apparently has been overlooked.

I've seen that pic a thousand times but only now did I see what was on the table

FYI regarding "cryptome", the originating site for the painfully slow-loading pic (and I'm on broadband):
Cryptome begins to "lock-out" downloads after 100 views from the same locale. That explains why the first few people on the thread didn't have a problem.

Since there are now over 1500 views to the thread, cryptome is blocking the FR hotlink.
Here's their policy:
Cryptome is attacked several times a day, like many other sites, nearly always by rogue bots, or bots set by default to siphon everything, including deep links, until a new user learns to trim the wide mouth suck. WGet and Webdup are the worst offenders, but not the only ones, because they come ready to siphon everything until reconfigured. Hog bots suck thousands of files in a session before pole-axed. Prime offenders also are the ravenous searching and indexing engines, which 24/7 roam the web repeatedly gobbling the same files, or trashing with 304s for files already indexed. Because these pigs shutout other readers, Cryptome blocks any address which downloads more than 100 files per session, and that often requires blocking an entire domain for providers which assign a random address per session. About every six months Cryptome lifts all blocks (except for eternal offenders), now about 200. If blocked send a message to jya [at] pipeline.com, with affected domain name or IP number. Until the block is lifted, use an anonymizer like anonymizer.com. Please don't unleash bots, or pinch their gorge.

I think the slow loading pic also explains why after 1500 views only 40 some people have commented on a very hot-topic thread.
I wasn't aware of that, but it doesn't surprise me. Unfortunately the State Deparetment and DOD are being more and more politicized with career personnel taking sides. When Kerry trooped in the generals and admirals during the Dem Convention, it was a disgrace.
bump
While not saying that Scooter Libby is out of trouble now, I think that Bob Woodward's recent bombshell is specifically meant to weaken the case against Libby because extreme damage will be done to the MSM if Libby's trial, or even the discovery phase of it, goes forward.
Fitz now has two options, put up or shut up. He's said that a second Grand Jury will be convened--how shabby and sloppy. He will have to bring all these good black women up to speed about the prior GJ and then try to make some more progress in a deepening quagmire. My bet is that Woodward won't be harrassed by Fitz which will make the faulty conclusions of the first GJ pretty much useless. Eventually, Libby's lawyers will accept a wristslap for their client, who did a stupid thing (probably in the mistaken belief that he was shielding the WH).
Plame was at the breakfast in violation of security. But, it gets better;
February 19, 2002 Joseph Wilson meets with officials from CIA and the State Department. According to a State Department intelligence analysts notes, the meeting was convened by Valerie Wilson. She later testifies that she left the meeting after introducing her husband. (Senate Intelligence Cmte., Iraq 40, July 2004).
March 5, 2002 Wilson reports back to two CIA officers at his home. Valerie Wilson is present but does not participate. (Senate Intelligence Cmte., Iraq 43, July 2004).
Kristof column May 5, 2003: I'm told by a person involved in the Niger caper that more than a year ago the vice president's office asked for an investigation of the uranium deal, so a former U.S. ambassador to Africa was dispatched to Niger. In February 2002, according to someone present at the meetings, that envoy reported to the C.I.A. and State Department that the information was unequivocally wrong and that the documents had been forged.
I think Kristof knew EXACTLY who Plame was in May, 2003 (the person present at both meetings) we will find out when Kristof is frog marched in front of the Libby jury.
THAT is hilarious. And sad.
I'm on the internal network hooker to a T-3 and it took forever!
No - I'm not on the hooker - it should say hooked.
I read the Kristof column long ago-He was the first, and Corn was the second, I believe.
This Wilson/Plame business is a crock! And Fitzy MUST know that, yet he goes on for 2+ years, and millions of $$$.
Why doesn't Bush stop giving him props???
And thanks for posting this, cc.
Thanks for the information. It's new to me.
Since you copied me on your reply to Clara, I assume it's okay for me to respond to this. I was simply commenting on the fact that the person who posted the photo said the reason it loaded slowly may have been because Clara wasn't getting all she was paying for with DSL, and so pointed out that it took a long time for me also using broadband. So maybe it wasn't just HER problem. I've seen that picture of the Wilson's on here a hundred times, so it didn't really matter to me whether it ever loaded or not.
BTTT
"Why in the world did you post that pic?"
Look, Clara, you're getting some grief because of your sarcastic approach to the problem. That question inferred intentional malice/stupidity on the part of the pic poster.
It was, to say the least, undiplomatic, and bound to ruffle some feathers.
Argue with someone else.
Time to start taking down some of the Looney Lefties and their Anti-war crowd. THEY ARE THE ONES BREAKING THE REGULATIONS AND LAWS, not BUSH and the majority of Repubs. Nothing is beyond these looney American hating lefties.
