Did Murtha visit Iraq or some other country ?
Meet The Press, Nov 20, 2005
REP. MURTHA: I'll tell you why it's different.
It's different because there's no progress at all.
When I went to Iraq about two months ago, I talked to the commanders.
Now, I--the commanders say what they're supposed to say, but I can tell how discouraged they are.
REP. MURTHA: ... Soldiers in the field--I'll tell you how bad it's gotten in the field.
I talk to sergeants who said to me "We're afraid to say anything because we'll stand to be recriminated by our superiors."
REP. JOHN MURTHA :The U.S. cannot accomplish anything further in Iraq militarily.
REP. MURTHA: Tim, I'm absolutely convinced that we're making no progress at all,
REP. MURTHA: ...We've become the enemy.
REP. MURTHA: ..There's no question we're going in the wrong direction and we're not winning.
REP. MURTHA:.. Even the military operations, Tim, when we throw people out of their homes, cause us tremendous problems.
REP. MURTHA: ..We have increased terrorism in the Middle East, is what we've done.
Doofus Dayton won't run again because he'd lose bigtime.Even normal nonpolitical people were disgusted by the "Cut and Run" loonacy he pulled.
Kennedy is part of the main street partnership republican gang that works to defeat conservatives. He helped bass defeat anwr.
He gave up a house seat to run for an unwinnable senate seat. Not the brighest politician ever either.
I avoided this article all yesterday because I thought from the title that this was one of the "Kennedy Klan."
Apparently not. Thanks for posting this.
Col Hunt, commentator on FoxNews, said the other day that "corruption" in the logistics/admin chain from the civil authorities to the military handoff to the battalions in the field is seriously undermining our ability to have effective Iraqi battalions once we field them.
Any way to query your congressman Kennedy about the corruption issue in the Iraqi civilian/military interface and how to fix it?
They don't have the resources for that sort of attack.
Bad news for Democrats.
Even worse news for the GOP's PR machine.
The GOP is doing a miserable job of countering enemedia propaganda.
The GOP and this administration has been SOOOOO bad with their Press Office, PR, news cycle control....information management, in general.....to earn the title of the worst with the media in the history of the modern presidency. (If there were such a title.)
It is so bad, that one has to wonder if it isn't purposeful. But I can't figure out any purpose for endlessly appearing as if you're losing.
Even if a Dem is slapped in the Face with this information.
They still would not get it or will ignore it. They are a party that will again fail it's constituents and blame it on a republican.

Is this the longest reigning thread at the top of the Breaking list...its been here FOREVER..and i think the sidebar moderator happens to like it...its been on here so long its no longer breaking news.
"Congressman Kennedy needs a testosterone shot, and some vocal cord work. I DO salute him for visiting with the troops though as long as he doesn't use the visit for political reasons in the press, which I'm sure he will"
like this that is coming out since his visit?

I avoided this thread util now, thinking this was about the swimmer. Glad it's still up.

Thank you for one of my very favorite quotes of all time. This is a terrific thread. Isn't it strange that the truth about progress in Iraq is being told by a Congressman named Kennedy?
Heh, heh, when I first read article title I thought it was Teddy, too.
Thank heavens for Mark Kennedy.
