If there is a war between the US and China, it will quickly go nuclear.

As a result, Asian allies of the United States are quietly preparing to bolster their militaries independent of Washington.

IMHO, this is a good thing. This whole things sounds carefully constructed to 'send a message' to China. Especially if 'quietly..bolster' = 'quietly...go nuke'.

We can't even defeat a bunch of rag head "insurgents".

That just tells me you haven't a clue as to what is really happening in Iraq. They ARE defeated, and we are killing them at a rate of 20 to 1. Why do you think they have resorted to IED's? Because they can not match us militarily and they are cowards to boot. If they weren't cowards, they'd have on uniforms and not hide in mosques and behind women and children.

Let me give you a friendly word of advice: You're too new here to start running down our military. Too many vets here with too many years of service. Go to DU with your anti-military screed. It's not appreciated here.

Or there's this thread. There's a fourth, but it was locked for being a duplicate.

There is a bright side.

Such an event would be like kicking a hornet's nest in the U.S. . While the 'cognoscenti' on the coasts might whine, the rest of the country would be PO'd enough that Marcus Pocrcius Cato's statement of "Carthago delenda est" would gain a 21st century meaning.

The plus side is ( with some darker aspects ), it just might PO the general population enough to finally do something about the would-be traitors in the US.

Horrific? Yes. The world has seemed to have forgotten the horrors of two World Wars.
